Brannock Maritime Museum
The recently relocated museum has exhibitions on Cambridge’s shipbuilding past from before the foundation of the republic up to merchant marine days. The museum features artifacts such as ship models, captain's caps, and books and photos that tell Cambridge’s story through war and peace. The museum also contains an extensive local library and archives, often used by visitors for genealogical research.

Dorchester County Historical Society
The society operates several museums, including the Neild Museum (which focuses on industrial and agricultural history), the 1760s Meredith House, the 1790 Goldsborough Stables, and a Colonial-style herb garden.
Hours: May 1-September 30, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; October 1-April 30, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Harriet Tubman Museum
A tribute to Harriet Tubman, a former slave and conductor in the underground railroad, this small museum has exhibits on Tubman, her efforts to free slaves, and local African-American culture. It also offers tours of places in Dorchester County where Tubman lived, prayed and worked. Only a few of the actual buildings still exist, but guides use the locations to tell stories about her life.

Richardson Maritime Museum
Come here to find out what a bugeye is, how a log canoe sails, or what a skipjack was built to do. With builders' models, hand tools and building plans, the museum focuses on all the boats used on the Chesapeake Bay for fishing, oystering and trading.
Hours: March-October, Wednesday and Sunday, 1:00 p.m - 4:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.; November-February, Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.; or by appointment year round
